The shape on the left depicts the fourth house Peta lived in and it was bigger than the previous houses. Peta’s sister was born when she lived in this house and the four small rectangles represents the growing family tree. Peta’s father worked with pigs, as symbolized by the pig nose, partly hidden in the bottom right. The colours were inspired by her Mothers favourite orange necklace, at the time, and the vineyards that surrounded the property. The pattern, which is continued on the road section to the right, is inspired by a Survey Index Plan, utilised by Peta for nearly 19 years at the WA Lands Department.
The canvas is oriented with North at the top and stencilled on the side is the exact location of the house in the form of latitude and longitude coordinates.
