A Cartographer with 30 years of mapping experienceAn artist unable to visualise #AphantasiaMapping all the locations she has lived – First 12 in this collectionColour palette inspired by photos or memories linked to each locationEach pattern or theme is inspired by a type of map
The smaller shape represents the first house Peta lived in. Within the house is her bunny, “which I still have”, along with her baby blanket. The blanket has a great pattern which is shown within the house. The colours on the canvas are the colours of the tailored safari jacket her Mother wore in a black and white photo with her. The larger section is outlining the position of the street. The pattern of the blanket has been continued from the house shape and has been transformed into a geological map, similar to what she drew in 1988, while studying. The canvas is oriented with North at the top and stencilled on the side is the exact location of the house in the form of latitude and longitude coordinates.
