A Cartographer with 30 years of mapping experienceAn artist unable to visualise #AphantasiaMapping all the locations she has lived – First 12 in this collectionColour palette inspired by photos or memories linked to each locationEach pattern or theme is inspired by a type of map

The house shape shown on the lower part of the canvas represents the sixth house Peta lived in. The mathematical symbols depict the start of kindergarten. The cross to the right is in memory of Peta’ s grandmother “Ethel Edith Minnie”. Although Peta doesn’t remember her she has a special connection with her. The lime section with the black dashed line is depicting the extra travelling required as they were now living rurally. The chequered pattern has been continued into the road section, above, and inspired by a thematic map for population density. Colours were inspired by the dust, eucalypts and wildflowers in the surrounding area. The canvas is oriented with North at the top and stencilled on the side is the exact location of the house in the form of latitude and longitude coordinates.
