A Cartographer with 30 years of mapping experienceAn artist unable to visualise #AphantasiaMapping all the locations she has lived – First 12 in this collectionColour palette inspired by photos or memories linked to each locationEach pattern or theme is inspired by a type of map

The rectangular shape at the top of the canvas is representative of the twelfth house Peta lived in. The family was here for quite a few years, so more memories and photos have resulted in a more complex design. The black spiral depicts the mini tornado that happened one Christmas Eve. The ball, coloured blue, depicts Peta’s keen interest in tennis. The steps to the left of the canvas were inspired by the stairs in the hotel Peta and her sister boarded at for High School. The checked pattern and colours represent the school uniforms of the Primary and two High schools Peta attended and the big orange school bus. Those colours were carried throughout the piece. The canvas is oriented with North at the top and stencilled on the side is the exact location of the house in the form of latitude and longitude coordinates.
