I submitted one of my works into a photographic exhibition. I was very nervous dropping it off as I don’t consider myself a photographer, but instead, an artist. Would this world of unfamiliarity welcome me or not?I met Chris, an award winning photographer, when I delivered my work, and we chatted about a few things, including the fact that I had just bought a Polaroid camera. I’ve been wanting to try some new ideas.

Anyway! Terence and I arrived at the opening last night and was very impressed with all the amazing photography on display. The time came for the prizes to be be announced. The photographer of two pieces I loved @aurora_burnett_kuhn, won Ghost in the Grain, chosen by Brunswick Darkroom, for an outstanding film photography submission. And then, my name was called out! I had been selected for the No Longer Lost award for a Standout Contribution. The prize being a Solo two-week exhibition at KC Gallery.

My first reaction was WTF! Then I felt very small in a room of very talented photographers. I think the reality is kicking in with my recent works being recognised.I am so grateful and so happy that I feel seen. A big thanks to all the support I’ve received from everyone. I truly appreciate it.Thank you Jade and Chris from Kindred Cameras
